9-15-05 || Turbo Tech System Under Consideration for State Emergency Management Planning
Asheville, NC (September 15, 2005) – Asheville-based Advanced Composting Technologies, Inc. recently met by invitation with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture to review the technology and operation of the company’s Turbo Tech forced aeration system for use in state emergency management planning. North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Steve Troxler met with Advanced Composting Technologies president Keith Warren to examine the use of Turbo Tech’s forced aeration technology with catastrophic mortality.
Catastrophic animal mortality is a critical component of state emergency management planning. Prior to the availability of portable forced aeration composting systems, such as that provided by Advanced Composting Technologies, the only viable option for catastrophic mortality was incineration, which lacks portability and poses serious environmental concerns.
Advanced Composting Technologies’ portable version of its Turbo Tech forced aeration system provides a retrofitted forced aeration composting system in 40-yard long “roll-off” containers. The portable containers ensure safe, controlled and environmentally sound mortality composting for catastrophic events such as disease epidemics or natural disasters.
Advanced Composting Technologies’ patented Turbo Tech systems are also commercially available for farmers, municipalities, veterinarians, businesses and organizations throughout the United States for handling manure, small and mid-size animal mortalities, food waste, and various other organic wastes. Advanced Composting Technologies provides retrofits for existing static pile composting bins as well as new forced aeration composting systems.

Asheville, NC (October 15, 2005) – The Turbo Tech forced aeration composting system, developed and produced by NC-based Advanced Composting Technologies, Inc., was recently approved by the NC Department of Agriculture for use statewide in the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for 2006.
The NRCS EQIP program is a small farm initiative that assists North Carolina farmers with implementing various environmentally beneficial farming practices. EQIP is a competitive contract program which awards supplier contracts only to select environmental applications that demonstrate the greatest environmental benefits in several key areas, including that of animal waste and mortality.
Advanced Composting Technologies’ Turbo Tech forced aeration composting system has been approved by NC’s NRCS for handling both animal waste and mortality and for installation both as a retrofit in existing static composting systems as well as in new forced aeration construction.

12-16-05 || NRCS Considers Advanced Composting Technologies’ System for Nationwide Implementation
Asheville, NC (December 16, 2005) – The North Carolina Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has submitted an application to the federal NRCS for Advanced Composting Technologies’ forced aeration composting systems to be recognized in the NRCS system on a national basis.
The national NRCS is administered on a state level by state-wide NRCS programs. National recognition would allow Advanced Composting Technologies’ composting systems to be used for animal waste and mortality composting by farmers participating in any state’s NRCS farm assistance programs.
Advanced Composting Technologies’ patented forced aeration systems are already approved for statewide use in the North Carolina NRCS farm assistance programs.
